I was interrupted about halfway into my weekly viewing of House, which I usually do just before bed on Mondays. Which tonight was right around 2 AM or so.
A friend of mine has been living with me for the past few months now, and every once in a while he asks me to take his girlfriend home for him.
This is something that I’ve done despite the fact that the car I’m using is not my car, and despite the fact that I have to arrange my schedule around it to make sure she gets home on time.
This is something I’ve done out of kindness, and respect for my friend. And I’ve done it gladly, without any objection.
But at past 2:00 in the morning, barging into my room while I’m on the verge of passing out, watching TV, and asking for me to drive them to her house, with absolutely no prior notice, and after I’ve told him before that I’m not allowed to take my Mom’s car out past midnight….
I don’t know what kind of reaction they were expecting. I hate to make them walk all the way back to her house this late, but I can’t be their designated chauffeur at the drop of the hat. And I’ve already broken the past midnight rule twice because they came back late before.
Enough is enough man. I can’t let myself be walked on like that.
Can’t people just be responsible for themselves? When did favors stop being favors?
